Margie Mia X Johnson is a writer, poet, actress, director, and all round muse. Influenced by jazz infused hip hop, she conjures everyone from Sojourner Truth to Lady Gaga. She uses creativity and word power to passionately touch hearts while writing herself into existence.

She’s the owner of Imagined life, an Arts Advocacy and consultancy firm, and one half of Brown Outlets, a hands on art project with poetry on found objects and origami. She’s the host of the Peoples Open Mic of Newark, which has presented art and performance everywhere from venues like Center Stage Cuts Barbershop, to Newark Penn Station. She also created Hug the Block, a public art experience of poetry, visual art, live music and Hip Hop cyphers bringing life to Newark neighborhoods.

Featuring and spotlighting at various venues in Essex County, she hopes to expand her cultural landscape and expose the world to her art.
